Cannabis will be sold by both online and in 24 retail stores by Cannabis NL, a division of Newfoundland Labrador Liquor Corporation. Many of the stores will be located within Dominion supermarkets that have existing liquor stores.
12:01am, Canada’s First Purchase
Normal opening time is 9am, but some stores will host a special 12:01am opening on Oct. 17, to mark the first official cannabis sales in Canada. Those stores will then be obliged to close at 2am. They will re-open at 9am.
Labrador’s single cannabis shop is located in Tobin’s Convenience, in Labrador City. Tweed has a store planned on Aspen Drive in Happy Valley – Goose Bay, but it won’t be ready to open until mid-December.
