Lines are forming across the state of New Jersey to get some fresh bud, legally.
But there are some questions that need to be answered, and lots of uncertainty around them. So here’s a list of a few.
There are 13 Locations
Locations are spread across the state, although there’s a bit of a bald spot at the shore in central Jersey, unfortunately. More locations plan to open in the coming weeks.
You Can’t Pay with Credit Card
Just like the rest of the country, banks and marijuana are having a hard time mixing. Therefore, you may want to hit an ATM before you make it to the dispensary. However there are three places that will take debit card. Those are Ascend in Rochelle Park and Curaleaf in Bellmawr and Edgewater Park.
Why’d They Wait until AFTER 4/20?
Seems the initial plan was indeed to open all the stores on that day, but due to the small number of locations and the super high demand, the headache this would induce would have been crippling. “Selecting 4/20 for opening day would have presented unmanageable logistical challenges for patients and other buyers, surrounding communities, and for municipalities,” says Toni-Anne Blake, a spokeswoman for New Jersey’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
With the lines starting last night and lasting well into today, I can understand the hesitancy to encourage even more of a celebration.
Enjoy the legalization!
