Business partners involved with an Oregon hemp farm are taking a former partner to court over allegations he stole from the farm to make and sell CBD oil worth more than $500,000.
Bakers Ranch Botanicals in Deschutes County, Oregon, filed a lawsuit seeking $950,000 in damages against Michael Schook and corporate entities affiliated with Schook in late July, The (Bend) Bulletin reported.
The company claims Schook either made CBD oil from hemp produced on its farm – a crop he said wasn’t marketable because it didn’t germinate well and failed to produce flower – or that he used money from Bakers Ranch Botanicals to produce hemp at a farm he owned with his daughter.
Bakers Ranch Botanicals did not respond immediately to Hemp Industry Daily’s request for comment.
The Oregon Department of Agriculture has Schook listed as a contact for two other farms in Deschutes County, which are registered to Four Seasons.
