Montana has set up a free trading platform for its hemp farmers, copying an existing platform it uses for hay and pasture.
Montana’s Hemp Marketplace allows people to buy and sell:
- hempseed.
- grain.
- fiber.
- flower.
- clones.
Listings need approval from the state agriculture department, though the state doesn’t verify or vouch for the quality of items sold.
Montana is still working on establishing a 1% checkoff tax to fund promotions for Montana-grown hemp.
The state plans to continue to operate under pilot hemp rules through the 2021 growing season.
