Drug charges dropped in New York hemp delivery case

New York prosecutors have dropped criminal charges against a CBD retailer who tried to pick up a shipment of hemp biomass from Vermont.

But authorities have not yet returned the hemp to Green Angel CBD.

Ronen Levy was facing marijuana charges by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office over Green Angel’s November shipment of 106 pounds of hemp from Fox Holler Farms of New Haven, Vermont.

The New York Police Department blamed the arrest on their inability to tell legal hemp from illegal marijuana.

Ronen Levy said the case against him was an unnecessary business hurdle.

“Everything could have been cut short just by looking at the right papers,” he told New York TV station WCBS.

The hemp was sent to Green Angel CBD through FedEx, which last month released a statement saying the company network prohibits such shipments.
