Ahh, California, a state that sweeps most of the West Coast and encompasses several climates. Mountains, beaches, desert, rich forests, and bustling cities are all within reach. The Golden State has something for everyone—it is the third largest (800 miles in length) and, unsurprisingly, the most populated state in the nation. As such, it is richly cultural, with communities representing all types of people from myriad nations.
The first state to legalize medical cannabis, California has a long history of perfecting its market and the products it offers. Now, recreational weed is also available, amping up its already thriving cannabis culture.

That said, dispensaries won’t be found in every nook and cranny of the state. From March 2018, the Sacramento Bee reported that 40% of the state is still 60 miles from the closest dispensary. Part of the reason for this is that some communities have chosen to ban cannabis sales. For those cannabis consumers making California their new home, it will pay to do a little research beforehand to make sure you live within range of a dispensary.
However, like most things in California, the cannabis is not known affordability. When recreational dispensaries first opened, consumers found themselves contending with steep costs. Fortunately, that trend is moving; based on the sales of other states that have legalized recreationally, analysists expect the costs of cannabis to begin to decline significantly by the end of the year. In addition, adults 21+ are allowed to grow up to six plants, which can help supplement supply.
California has always been a desirable location to live, and recreational cannabis has only added to its allure. For those who can afford to live there, the perks are generous.
High quality cannabis can be enjoyed while living anywhere from the mountains to the sea, and there are plenty of communities to call home.
